Massage has been a form of treatment around for thousands of years, in fact the word massage comes from the Arabic word meaning “to press softly”. Aromatherapy Massage involves a smoother gliding type of pressure, moving tension from the whole body. Target tissues may include muscle, tendons, ligaments, skin, joints, connective tissue as well as lymphatic vessels, or organs of the gastrointestinal system. Our massage approach involves the receiver lying on a massage table, fully clothed or partly unclothed depending on the receiver’s choice. As appropriate, we cover parts of the body with towels.
Explanation and Application
The key benefit of touch through massage is in its effect of enabling the body to enter into a relaxed and balanced state. The moment we place our hands on another persons body we begin to treat both body and mind of a person and thus promote a state of balance called “homeostasis”.
Benefits of massage includes:
• Improvement and maintenance of muscle tone
• Stimulates and improves blood and lymph flow
• Improves skin texture and colour
• Stimulates cell regeneration
• Eliminates toxins e.g lactic acid from the body
• Stimulates the nervous system by clearing the nervous pathways within the body
• Produces Erythema thus increasing skin temperature

Choice of Blended oils
Explanation and Approach
Aromatherapy has been used throughout history as a healing and relaxing treatment. First recorded in 4500 BC China with the use of medicinal herbs, it has now become a widely adopted treatment often used by people within their home. An Aromatherapy massage consists of a massage combined with essential oils to help stimulate the Lymphatic system and help eliminate waste and toxins. This massage technique is a lot smoother than Swedish massage and is extremely relaxing to both body and mind. An Essential Oil is the vital ingredient used in this type of massage, they can be both antiseptic and antibacterial. Essential oils come from many plant species which can be leaves, plants berries, fruits, seeds. Essential oils can penetrate through the skin through massage when blended with a suitable carrier oil, they then work their way into the Blood Stream and work on the area requiring attention.
You can have a massage tailored to how you would like to feel on an emotional level and they can be used to enable you to feel: relaxed, rejuvenated, extra energy or can help you with sleeping problems.
